聽ACS Green Chemistry Institute Business Plan Competition: 2014

As part of the 2014聽Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference (GC&E) in the Washington DC area, the ACS Green Chemistry Institute庐 is holding the only business plan competition exclusively devoted to green and sustainable chemistry and engineering.

Early stage, pre-revenue companies are encouraged to apply with a short Executive Summary of their green business idea. Part of the competition will include real-world, expert mentoring on business plan development for participating entrepreneurs.

Semi-finalists will attend the GC&E conference for the final judging, networking, and panels with experienced entrepreneurs, venture capital, and IP specialists. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners.

A poster networking exchange session will be offered to enable interactive discussions for research and implementation strategies related to green chemistry. Posters are invited from anyone involved in research, safer formulations, new product development and implementation, decision-making tools, or technical assistance. Ideally, posters will make a connection between green chemistry expertise and business needs in product development in safer chemistry. Student involvement is encouraged and entries from students are welcome.

NEW TOOL:聽BlueGreen Alliance聽has launched a new, free tool that is designed by workers for workers to make it easier to learn about chemicals:聽ChemHAT (Chemical Hazards and Alternatives Toolbox).聽With ChemHAT鈥檚 searchable database, one can easily read about the scientific findings on the short and long-term health effects of over 10,000 commonly used chemicals.
