Welcome to the Public section of the Michigan Green Chemistry Clearinghouse.
Every day in the news we hear stories about air pollution that can exacerbate asthma, or baby bottles leaching chemicals of concern, or pollution making fish unsafe to eat. What we don’t hear about enough are the solutions — the innovations like Green Chemistry that can transform all of the stuff we use every day so that it is safe for people and the planet.
This section of the website provides information on Green Chemistry innovations for the general public – so you don’t need a chemical engineering degree to understand it – because public support and understanding are important to make sure we keep supporting Green Chemistry, teaching it in our schools, practicing it in our workplaces, supporting it by government policy, and funding it at all levels.
